Cause of death revealed for stepdaughter of legendary guitarist Slash

A legendary rocker announced the tragic passing of one of his nearest and dearest earlier this summer, and now the young woman's cause of death has been revealed.

As Fox News reports, Lucy-Bleu Knight, stepdaughter of legendary Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, died of “hydrogen sulfide toxicity, in what was also ruled a suicide.

Sad details of young life lost

The details of Knight's death came from the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office, and they provide some additional information about the death of the 25-year-old woman back in July.

Slash himself let the world know of Knight's demise by way of a social media post, stating that the daughter of his partner, Meegan Hodges, had “passed away peacefully.”

Paying tribute to the young woman, Slash wrote, “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.

The renowned musician also asked for privacy for Knight's family, asking that “social media speculation be kept to a minimum.”

Tragic ending, revealed

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explains the hydrogen sulfide is a “colorless, flammable, highly toxic gas,” the inhalation of which at significant concentrations can produce “extremely rapid unconsciousness and death.”

Sadly, it is just that sort of intentional inhalation that appears to have cased Knight's death, and a cryptic Instagram post seen on her account after her death was made public almost instantly led credence to such speculation.

The post, seemingly authored by Knight herself, said, “Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity -- I am sorry.”

“Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleau. Peace,” the post continued.

Amid news of the formal findings about Knight's cause of death, her grieving mother added a comment to that fateful post, saying simply, “I love you Lucy.”

Hopefully the official report will help bring a small sense of closure to those who loved Lucy-Bleu Knight as they adjust to life without her.
