Democrat Hispanic Caucus Hammers Biden Over Latest Border Moves

Joe Biden made a big mistake in the eyes of his fellow Democrats.

Biden has started to change his immigration policy, more than likely in anticipation of the 2024 election.

He knows that if he does not get this under control, he hands the GOP a huge talking point to use against him. However, flipping now also gives some Democrat groups cause to do the same.

To that point, the Democrat Hispanic Caucus just slammed Biden for daring to change his open borders policy, reports KFOR.

Got What He Wanted

When Biden was on the campaign trail, he regularly talked about allowing an extra two million immigrants into the country and doubling our legal immigration number.

Biden just did that… illegally, mind you, but he did it.

He has the number that he wanted, so now he is looking to slow it down. Ironically, some of the policy changes that Biden has put forth are very reminiscent of Trump's policies.

Now the Hispanic Caucus is going off. The funny thing about that is that when you talk to Hispanic voters, they agree with locking down the borders and making everyone come into the country legally. This is not even a marginal majority, but rather an overwhelming one.

The latest rule that has them up in arms is the new asylum rule that limits the number of Nicaraguans, Cubans, Haitians, and Venezuelans to 30,000 per month, but that is only if they follow the rules and apply legally.

Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) stated that the group has "some concerns regarding the recent policies that have been put in place by the administration," reports Fox News.

He continued, "Right now, the plan proposes that you have a sponsor -- somewhat of a privilege to have a sponsor in the United States and probably has a cushy bank account and could bring you here.

"Not all asylum seekers can count on having a sponsor. You also have to apply via the [CBP One] app, which is complicated to begin with and collapses on many occasions. And so and in addition to that, of course, and if you don't seek refuge in other countries, and you cannot prove that you seek refuge in other countries, you cannot opt for parole. So these are trouble policies."

Sens. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.), and Alex Padilla (D-CA) also expressed their displeasure over the rule changes.

In a joint statement, they said, "We are deeply disappointed that the Administration has chosen to move forward with publishing this proposed rule, which only perpetuates the harmful myth that asylum seekers are a threat to this nation.

"In reality, they are pursuing a legal pathway in the United States. We have an obligation to protect vulnerable migrants under domestic and international law and should not leave vulnerable migrants stranded in countries unable to protect them."

Several other Democrats and pro-immigration groups also went after Biden on this front.

Will it be enough for them to look away from him come the primary? I won't say it is at that point just yet, but he is starting to get people upset.

Also, start taking names on this because every Democrat that supports immigration staying the way it has been over the last two years clearly does not deserve to be in office because they are not respecting the rule of law.

They all need to go.
