"The sedan then tried to continue into a closed-off intersection, before Secret Service personnel surrounded the vehicle with weapons drawn and instructed the driver to put his hands up," Fox News reported.
"President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had just finished a meal with members of his re-election team at the time of the incident, according to the White House pool report," it added.

"There was no protective interest associated with this event and the president's motorcade departed without incident," Secret Service spokesperson Special Agent Steve Kopek said in a statement, according to the BBC.
"The Wilmington Police Department said it was investigating the collision, which did not result in any injuries," it continued.
Following the incident, the president was also quickly placed in his vehicle where First Lady Jill Biden was already inside.
The president and first lady are both safe though the president expressed surprise at the situation following a loud bang as the crash occurred.
The Bidens were visiting the Delaware location as part of a holiday party for campaign workers, according to media reports.
The party will now be remembered for the accident outside of the location, though it appears to be an accident and all involved were safe following the situation.
