Apparently, Democrats do not mind violent protests when it is for a cause they support.
Such was the case when pro-Palestine protesters got aggressive with Capitol Police.
The protest, by the way, was illegal.
Keep Them Back
Police were fighting back about 150 protesters who were described as “violent” outside of the Democrat National Committee headquarters in DC.
The Capitol Police stated, "Right now our officers are working to keep back approximately 150 people who are illegally and violently protesting in the area of Canal Street and Ivy Street, SE. Officers are making arrests. All Members have been evacuated from the area. Please stay away from the area.”
While they claimed they were making arrests, people reporting the incident on social media did not see any taking place.
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) posted that he was in the DNC at the time and was told to evacuate the building. While inside, he stated that he could hear chants of “cease-fire” before the police came in and ordered the evacuation.
It was reported that there were seven members of Congress in the DNC at the time the evacuation was ordered.
Rep. Sean Casten (D-IL) was also inside at the time, and stated, "I was just evacuated from the @dccc office after the building was surrounded by protestors who had blocked all modes of ingress and egress. Grateful to Capitol Police for getting all members and staff out safely. To the protestors: PLEASE don’t do something irresponsible.”
Now, if this were a conservative protest, it would have been called an insurrection, but we all know how loosely Democrats throw around words like that, so I will not go that far.
However, I will say the attitude is clearly different based on the ideology of the protesters.
I was watching crowd videos of some of the rants that were taking place for social media, and these people seemed completely unhinged, but that is the world or rather country, that we live in today.
This is commonplace on the left, so it just seems like it is accepted.
