Candidate Running Against George Santos Trapped in Israel as War Continues

A GOP candidate running against New York Rep. George Santos is currently trapped in Israel after Hamas launched attacks over the weekend.

Daniel Norber has been forced to shelter against bomb attacks in Israel while visiting family there over the weekend.

“We heard the sirens this morning,” he told The Post around 8 p.m. his time. “We thought maybe it was a mistake. Right now nobody feels safe,” he told the New York Post.

“Israel is the protector of American values and democracy in the Middle East,” Norber continued. “It is the only democracy in the Middle East.”

"I’m in Israel to see family and woke up to the sound of sirens. Thankfully, my family is fine but friends' whole neighborhoods have been destroyed. This is war," Norber posted on social media.

"Pray for Israel, pray for the Israeli people, he added.

The attacks, launched by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, have already led to over 600 known deaths and 1,500 injuries.

In addition, several hostages have reportedly been taken by the militant group, though the exact number is unconfirmed.

At least four Americans have also reportedly been killed in the attacks in Israel. The identities of the Americans have not yet been released.

Israel is now at war against the terrorist group, leaving Norber forced to stay in the nation along with many others trapped in the midst of the battle to protect the people of the nation.
