Calendar Shows Buttigieg Regularly Meeting with Dark-money Groups

The Democrat Party loves to rail against dark money, but it is saturating this administration.

It was not that long ago that a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request showed that John Kerry was meeting with outside groups to craft policy.

It now appears that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has been doing the same thing.

Bowing to the Money

I have said this before, but I should probably say it again before diving into this one.

Every administration meets with special interest groups, so that is not necessarily the problem here.

What is the problem is when these groups are adding language to bills, virtually writing them.

Government watchdog Americans for Public Trust (APT) obtained Buttigieg's calendar to uncover these meetings.

Caitlin Sutherland, the executive director of APT, stated, "Supply chains have collapsed, gas prices are at a record high and air travel is a disaster, but instead of fixing these problems, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has decided to team-up with dark money groups to implement their extremist policies that hurt everyday Americans."

The groups she was referring to were the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Securing America's Future Energy (SAFE), and Climate Action Campaign (CAC).

Sutherland continued, "Buttigieg and the Biden administration's priorities are completely out of touch with what the average family needs the most right now."

That is not exactly a surprise.

One thing that has been consistent about this administration is that it is clearly focused on making donors happy and putting the welfare of the American people on the back burner.

The scary aspect of all this is that serious dark money is pouring into these groups, and they are helping to shape policy.

If Buttigieg's office is doing anything near what Kerry was doing, we have a huge problem on our hands.
