Brother of Raven-Symoné Dies of Colon Cancer

Former “The Cosby Show” star Raven-Symoné shared some bad news with fans this week.

Her brother, Blaize Pearman, has passed away.

Pearman was diagnosed with colon cancer about two years ago.

Tragic Day

Raven-Symoné broke the news on her social media accounts on Monday.

She posted, "It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize.

"He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now."

She added: "He's loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family, have been a roller coaster."

She concluded, "I love you, Blaize. His birthday is Dec. 16 and forever will be. I love you, guys. My family on Instagram, my family at home, and my family and friends. You guys have been such an amazing support system and I love you all."

Raven-Symoné burst onto the scene in 1989, starting as Olivia Kendall in “The Cosby Show.” That led to a spinoff role in “A Different World” as well as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

After “The Cosby Show” finished, she immediately went to work on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper,” appearing in 79 episodes of the show that ran from 1993 to 1997.

She has been extremely busy since then, featured in numerous TV shows, Disney films, and eventually her own series called “That’s So Raven.”

In more recent years, she has starred in the TV shows, “Raven’s Home” and “Big City Greens.”

This death comes on the tail end of yet another cycle in Hollywood where some very high-profile stars have passed away, including Matthew Perry (“Friends”), Andre Braugher (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), and movie star Ryan O’Neal.
