‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Star Dead at 61
A fan favorite has sadly passed away at the very young age of 61.
He was an actor on "Homicide."
André Braugher, most recently one of the co-stars of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” has died.
While details of his death have been limited, the only thing we really know about his case of death was that he was recently ill.
Sad Day in the Entertainment World
Braugher was a brilliant actor with an amazing range.
One of his first appearances was playing Cpl. Thomas Searless in “Glory.”
Braugher always seemed to thrive, be it in a comedic role or drama, as a police officer of some sort, which may explain why two of his biggest hits were “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
While most of his success was working in TV, he still played in some rather amazing movies.
The ones that come to mind are “The Tuskegee Airmen,” “Primal Fear,” and “City of Angels.”
Some of the more recent movies he starred in were “Poseidon,” “The Mist,” “Passengers,” and “Salt.”
Some of the other TV shows he played in were “Men of a Certain Age”, ‘House,” “Last Resort,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Braugher was nominated 70 times for awards, winning 15, including two Primetime Emmys.
His last credited role was Ri’Chard Lane in “The Good Fight.”
The outpouring of affection for this man was impressive, including Terry Crews, who starred with Braugher in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
He stated, "I'm honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you, and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much.
“I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness, and your friendship."
He is survived by his wife and three sons.
I too, thank you for the amazing work you did, sir… 61 is just far too young.
