When Trump gave his deposition in the E Jean Carroll case, it could be described as cocky or cavalier, but it surely was not serious.
Trump made several cracks during the deposition that went viral on social media after the fact.
That may now hurt Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money case being brought by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.
An MSNBC report found that Bragg wants to use that deposition against Trump in his case to show Trump’s “state of mind” when the hush money was paid to Stormy Daniels.
Use It
I am not really sure what the game plan is here to use this against Trump, but the liberal media horde seems to think it is a good idea.
Contributor Catherine Christian said the deposition from the Carroll case “shows the state of mind during that period when those hush money payments were made to Stormy Daniels and Miss McDougal, the former Playboy model.
“It sort of all explains why these were hush money payments as opposed to legal expenses that he claims they were to Michael Cohen.”
In that deposition, Trump got everyone’s ears up when he explained the comments he made that were first reported by “Access Hollywood,” when he spoke of grabbing women by their “pu**y.”
Trump stated, “Historically that’s true with stars. If you look over the last million years, that’s largely true, unfortunately — or fortunately.”
He also denied having raped Carroll because she was “not his type.”
Bragg wants the full taped deposition to show how Trump “dealt with allegations of a sexual nature,” reported Yahoo.
Trump’s attorneys have already filed to block the subpoena, calling it nothing more than a “fishing expedition.”
Of all the legal cases that Trump is facing, I believe this one to be the flimsiest, but also the most dangerous because of the DA, location, and judge. Trump is not likely to get a fair shake here, so regardless of Bragg stacking the charges, Trump could find himself in serious trouble when the verdict eventually comes down.
And if the jury finds him guilty, this judge is surely going to throw the book at Trump, as it has become quite clear he loathes Trump.
So far, Trump’s team has handled every move that Bragg has made, but there is yet another problem looming for Trump.
There is the obvious in special counsel Jack Smith, but everyone seems to have forgotten all about NY AG Letitia James, who has a $250 million civil fraud case against Trump, which could cost him his business license.
How Trump fares in these cases will clearly dictate his political future.
