Bodycam footage from star's 2023 hit-and-run released

A famous singer has been arrested and the body cam footage of the event has made headlines.

A well-known singer who goes by the name of DaniLeigh was taken into custody after a DUI hit-and-run.

TMZ reported that the incident ended with a teenager in the hospital suffering from SERIOUS injuries, from a fractured spine to a kidney laceration.

The teen was on a moped when DaniLeigh struck him from her vehicle and dragged him for a BLOCK before a stranger informed a nearby police officer what was occurring.

While the actual even took place back in May of 2023, the bodycam footage was only recently released.

What that footage contained is both shocking and infuriating.

When police asked her to step out of the vehicle, DaniLeigh fired back one of the most entitled, pompous things she could have said.

“Please I’ve never been in handcuffs before. I’m a celebrity, so I can’t just be committed to a crime,” DaniLeigh is heard saying in the police body cam footage.

The “celebrity” did not stop there.

She continued with her statement, asking “did somebody die?”

When the police officer replied that they were unsure, DaniLeigh can be heard LAUGHING.

That’s when the officer had had ENOUGH.

“It’s a really serious thing. You’re here laughing. Someone right now could be losing their life because of you,” the officer said in the footage.

DaniLeigh was taken to jail that night on three felony charges and was convicted in February.

She is now serving five years of probation.

This is not someone anyone should be supporting.

You are not above the law just because a large majority of the population may know who you are.

We applaud the officers that night who held DaniLeigh accountable for her actions and truly hope she has learned a very serious lesson.
