Bill de Blasio: Voters Felt Betrayed by Democrats
Former New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is about as much of an establishment Democrat as you will see.
However, I do have to give him some props for calling out his fellow Democrats after the most recent election.
While some Dems are still living in a fantasy world, de Blasio at least admitted that voters pushed back after Dems tried to pull a fast one on them regarding Joe Biden’s mental health.
Just Stop Lying
I can still see Joe Scarborough telling his viewers before the debate that Joe Biden was still as sharp as ever.
That was the talking point the Democrats were pushing at the time, and it was what kept Joe Biden in the race for so long when, realistically, he should have been out of the race before the primary even started.
Not only that, but Democrats insisted on telling Americans they were doing wonderful in terms of their finances when we were all watching our bank accounts go backward for years.
This is exactly what DeBlasio discussed as to why the Democrats got hammered in this election.
The former New York City mayor stated, "Let‘s be honest, we‘ve got to be more honest. Part of what happened here is the American people were pissed off that they felt the Democratic Party was covering for Joe Biden.
“They were already upset with Joe Biden on a substantive level, not always fairly, but they were on things like inflation. And people are hurting.”
He then even admitted his role in all of this, stating, "I‘ll take my share of the blame. I mean, I wanted to believe Joe Biden could make it through. He was a great president in many ways.
“I wanted to believe he could hang on, but it stood to reason that he should not continue as our candidate. It stood to reason that one term was right, and a lot of Democrats kind of kept their mouths shut. And I think people felt out in the country a little betrayed by that."
Bill de Blasio is one of the few Democrats to actually openly admit this, and if Dems are going to get back in the saddle, people like Barack Obama would be well advised to take this approach rather than berating people who voted against Kamala Harris.
I highly doubt that will be the case, however, as Dems seem more intent than even of ramming their liberal policies down everyone’s throats.
