Biden's Supreme Court plan declared a 'banana republic tactic'

John Yoo, a law professor and a former clerk to conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, recently appeared on Fox News. While he was there, he spoke about something that Joe Biden might do to cause as much damage as possible to this country before he leaves office in January 2025.

Biden has already confirmed that he's not going to seek reelection, so he will have to be kept in check during his final few months in office.

One of the things that Biden suggested doing even before he dropped out of the 2024 race was to radically change America's Supreme Court. Yoo is pushing back against that idea as a "banana republic tactic."

A recent Washington Post article reported that Biden was considering some major changes to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Unsurprisingly, most of the ideas Biden has are short-sighted options designed to get conservatives off the court.

According to MSN, "Biden was planning to endorse major changes to the Court, such as establishing term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code, citing unnamed sources briefed on the plans. The president also is still deciding whether to support a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other top officials."

There's no doubt that Biden would never want to change the Supreme Court if it currently held a liberal majority, and Democrats are too impatient to realize that there might be a time in the future where THEY have control of the Supreme Court.

Yoo is sad that Joe Biden would be making such drastic and silly decisions just in time to do as much harm to his political legacy as possible:

"It would be sad if President Biden were to end his decades of public service by adopting another banana republic tactic like this," Yoo said.

What do you think about this story?

Should Biden make radical changes to the Supreme Court, or should he leave things alone?

Everyone has their own opinion, and I'm sure we're going to hear a lot of them as Joe Biden enters the last months of his presidency!
