Joe Biden had managed to get himself into another pickle.
Fresh off a three-day workweek after a 10-day vacation, Joe Biden left the White House on Friday for another week-long vacation.
This time, Biden reportedly paid “fair market price” for the $18 million Lake Tahoe home of his billionaire buddy Tom Steyer.
Well, that vacation rental is now under investigation, reported the New York Post.
Not Legal
After it was revealed that Joe Biden was headed to Steyer's Lake Tahoe home, a neighbor filed a complaint.
According to the neighbor, Steyer does not have a VHR permit. This is a vacation home rental permit that is needed to rent a home on a short-term basis.
It would appear as though Steyer’s neighbors are not happy with the extra buzz around their neighborhood because officials stated there were several inquiries.
VHR Program Manager Ernie Strehlow stated, “Several [inquiries] have been received on this address. We cannot comment further as we are actively investigating any Douglas County Nevada code violations on this rental,” reported the Daily Caller.
So, seriously, how long does it take to punch the address into the computer to see if the permit exists or not?
If Steyer is found in violation, he would be fined $20,000, which is about $2 to you and me.
My question is if the home is valued at $18 million, exactly what is the fair market rate for a rental for a week?
Joe Biden took a quick break from his vacation to head to Maui for the day on Monday. Biden was scheduled to meet with first responders and survivors of the wildfires.
He was not expected to get a very warm welcome, as many of the residents feel it took him too long and he was only doing it for a photo op.
The relief efforts have also been slow rolling, only adding to the frustration of survivors.
But hey, like I said, nothing gets in the way of a Biden vacation.
