Biden ‘Support’ Meeting Canceled by Democrats
Democrats can not actually force Joe Biden to resign his office, but they can put significant pressure on him.
They can do this by having funding pulled back as well as hammering Biden in the media.
They can also collectively pull their support, which is what appears to have happened with a group of Senate Democrats.
Pulling Support
According to reports, there was to be a group meeting among Democrats that was going to be led by Senator Mark Warner (D-VA).
The meeting was going to discuss the support for Joe Biden moving forward, but the meeting was canceled.
This comes after numerous House Democrats have openly called for Joe Biden to withdraw from the election.
House Dems are not only telling Joe Biden they want him out of the race, numerous Dems are now openly telling the media they think Joe Biden is going to lose the election, creating panic among party members.
Keep in mind that these are all people who have been telling the American people for years that Joe Biden is fine; they were no longer able to hide his issues after the debate.
I don’t see an easy way out of this for Democrats.
While they should be using the 25th Amendment to remove him, they cannot do that because it would only prove that Republicans were right all along.
If Joe Biden declines the nomination at the convention, it would then be up to the electors to pick the candidate, which is very bad optics for a party that claims it is the GOP that is a threat to democracy.
To me, the least damaging route would be to have Biden resign his presidency and allow Kamala to run as the incumbent, but that would be a big hit to Biden’s pride and still take the selection process out of the hands of Americans.
If any of these scenarios play out, Dems would have to push the narrative that this issue for Biden only recently developed, but the American people will be able to see right through that.
Dems put themselves in this position, and now they have no way out. So, at this point, the Dems coming to speak out against Biden are simply trying to save their seats.
