It is really tough to take anything this administration says with a straight face at this point.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was getting drilled on Title 42 coming to an end.
She insisted that even when Title 42 comes to an end, the border is not open.
She also insisted that anyone pitching that narrative is doing the work of "the smugglers."
Is She Serious?
Title 42 is a public health rule that was put in place during the Trump administration to deter illegal immigrants from coming to the border.
Since its inception, it has been invoked more than 2.5 million times, so imagine what the situation would be like if we did not have that rule.
Republicans and some Democrats want to codify the rule, but Joe Biden wants it ended.
In response to the possible end of Title 42, Karine Jean-Pierre stated, "I want to be very clear here. The fact is that the removal of Title 42 does not mean the border is open.
"Anyone who suggests otherwise is simply doing the work of these smugglers who, again, are spreading misinformation which is very dangerous."

When she was pressed on the issue, she did her best Kamala Harris imitation and spit out a non-sensical word salad…
She later added, "Those who do not have a legal basis to remain will be quickly removed. And so we will continue to fully enforce our immigration laws in a fair, orderly and humane manner."
But that is completely untrue.
Only a minimal amount of the asylum cases being filed have been approved, but this administration is not kicking these people out of the country.
The new spending bill is packed with billions for immigration, but it has very little to do with actually securing the border. Yet, KJP stated, "We asked for the $3.5 billion. We're going to continue to ask Congress … especially Congressional Republicans … to help us with what's going on at the border if they are indeed serious about doing that."
When you check out the earmarks for the money, it is more about setting illegals up with health care and benefits, not building a border wall.
They spin, that is what they do best. We are still waiting for day one of an honest statement to be made by someone in his administration.
