Biden Ran as Centrist, Governed as Leftist
Today, Democrats are trying to figure out what went wrong in the 2020 election.
When Joe Biden was in the race, he was getting slaughtered by Donald Trump, so they replaced him with Kamala Harris.
Harris hit the ground with a massive lead, but that dissipated rather quickly, resulting in a landslide win by Donald Trump, and now Dems are trying to figure out why.
What Went Wrong
All during the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden denied he was a progressive, over and over again.
He promised that he would be a president for all Americans, but when he got into office, he caved to the far left in the party.
Show me one policy that Biden passed that took the interest of conservatives in mind... it does not exist.
Open borders, berating Israel in public, rising energy costs, rising inflation... the complete opposite of what took place during Donald Trump's term.
"Today" host Savannah Guthrie commented on this, stating,"Well, it’s also interesting, too, because Biden ran kind of — first of all, as a transitional figure.
"So, people weren’t expecting that he necessarily would run for a second term — but also, he had always been something of a centrist.
"But I don’t think he governed that way, right? There was a sense that he was trying to do more than, perhaps, people had voted him into office to do.”
So why did Kamala Harris fail so badly after Donald Trump? Well, many believe her defining moment was when she appeared on "The View" and said she would not have done one thing differently than Joe Biden.
She even admitted she was neck-deep in every decision that was made during this administration, and this after her staff worked so hard to distance her from Joe Biden.
Harris was already in trouble at that point, but that is when she really started to tank in polling, eventually leading to a landslide win for Donald Trump in the Electoral College as well as a popular vote win for Republicans, something that has not happened in two decades.
