Biden Off the Impeachment Hook… for Now

Two weeks ago, it seemed imminent that a Joe Biden impeachment inquiry would be taking place before the year was out.

That changed rather dramatically over the last week.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, stated this weekend that he believes an impeachment decision will not be made until early next year.

Knowing this impeachment will face serious hurdles in the Senate, Republicans cannot jump the gun here even though there is a significant contingent that wants this to happen right now.

You guys know my stance on this…

I would love to see Joe Biden impeached, but I think it is a massive risk that could completely backfire on Republicans and energize the Democrat base to vote for Biden in 2024.

When you consider removing Joe puts Kamala Harris in the White House and the remaining time in Biden’s term by the time a trial would end, it just does not seem worth it to me.

I would prefer getting all those I’s dotted and T’s crossed for a criminal referral once we have a Republican Attorney General in office.

Jordan is not putting it off that long, but he is now backing up the timeline.

He stated, “I believe we will get the depositions and the interviews done in this calendar year and then make a decision early next year whether the actual evidence warrants going to articles of impeachment and moving to that stage of the investigation.”

You also have to remember that the subject of interest that could have really dropped a bomb on Hunter Biden was the Burisma income, but the DOJ allowed the statute of limitations to expire on those possible charges.

I have always believed that if Hunter Biden finds out he is going to get fitted for an orange jumpsuit, he will start to sing, and that was the best bet for that to happen.

My point here is that I don’t want anyone to be discouraged if you don’t see an impeachment hearing ordered because right now, with Dems in charge of the Senate, it would fail anyway.

We don’t necessarily need an impeachment to bring Biden to justice.

In reality, I actually believe an impeachment would let Biden off far too easily.
