Biden No Major Bump in Polling After SOTU Address
The media could not possibly have gushed more over Joe Biden after this State of the Union address (SOTU).
They praised him for his “high energy” speech and said that he answered the moment and all questions about his mental cognizance.
Surely, Joe thought those reviews would give him a huge bump in polling, but it never happened.
Sorry, Joe
If I am being blunt, the praise heaped on Biden was shameful.
He had quite a few gaffes during the speech, not to mention much of the speech was nothing but regurgitated nonsense from his previous SOTU addresses.
While the media did not catch on, it would appear that the American people did.
People are sick and tired of being told how Joe Biden’s economy is working for them when they keep seeing their bank accounts go backward.
To that point, Biden did not receive the expected surge in polling, quite the opposite, actually,
In a Yahoo News/YouGov poll before the SOTU address, Biden had a 40% approval rating, but that dipped to a 39% approval rating after the SOTU.
Trump was leading Biden in a head-to-head matchup, 45-44% before the SOTU, but now Trump is leading 46-44%.
In looking at six different polls on FiveThirtyEight, Trump is leading Biden in four of them.
That is great news for Trump, but there is even better news for the former president.
I just checked all the key battleground races, and Trump is ahead of Biden in every one of those.
When it comes to the presidential race, I always put far more weight on state polls than I do in national polls because of the Electoral College.
And as it stands right now, the 2020 results look like they will be completely flipped.
But, as I have stated before, there is still a long time to go, and Democrats and the Biden campaign have just started to attack Trump.
There is also the financial situation for Trump, his campaign, his PACs, and the RNC, which is not good.
Point being, don’t get comfortable because we still have a long eight months to go before we can pull the handle.
