Yet again, we have a murder that never should have happened and only did because of Joe Biden's loose border policies.
Carlos Corrales-Ramirez, a 20-year-old Honduran national, has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of 28-year-old Jario J. Hernandez-Sanchez, 28.
Corrales-Ramirez had previously been in custody but was released thanks to utterly ridiculous Democrat policies.
Let Go
Corrales-Ramirez was initially detained by Border Patrol agents near Champlain, New York, in March.
He was then turned over to the New York State Police due to an outstanding warrant against him for another stabbing in Laurel, Maryland.
He sat in jail for three months while NYSP waited for Maryland to approve the extradition, but it never came.
Finally, his release was ordered by a judge in June.
You would think that he would have counted his lucky stars, but that was not the case.
Even though New York held Corrales-Ramirez for three months, including an extension by the judge to make it a 90-day hold instead of a 30-day hold, Maryland did not respond to the request until a month after Corrales-Ramirez was let by New York State Police.
The Office of the State's Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland, claims that it took measures to ensure Corrales-Ramirez would be held while the red tape was gone through, but "the application wasn’t received by the Secretary of State in a timely manner."
Democrat Maryland Gov. Wes Moore's office, however, stated that the initial paperwork was not received from New York until July, which was AFTER New York had released Corrales-Ramirez.
Corrales-Ramirez is now being held in the Rensselaer County Jail in Troy, New York.
The Office of the State's Attorney for Prince George's County stated, "After the stabbing incident in Prince George’s County where he is alleged to be involved, Corrales-Ramirez evaded authorities and was subsequently labeled a fugitive. An arrest warrant was issued in his name.
"In March 2023, he was apprehended by Border Patrol in New York and was held under ICE detention. The Office of the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County took the necessary steps in the extradition process. On May 30, 2023, the State’s Attorney signed and subsequently forwarded the requisite extradition application to the court system for the additional required signatures, prior to Corrales-Ramirez's release on June 21, 2023.
"Regrettably, despite our efforts, we are aware that the application wasn't received by the Secretary of State in a timely manner, leading to the current situation. Currently, we are working together with all of the relevant agencies to modernize and improve upon the extradition process."
Someone is clearly lying here, and based on the statement by the Office of the State's Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland, it sure sounds like the Maryland governor is full of it.
Regardless of who is to blame, someone is unnecessarily dead, so once again, not only does someone in New York or Maryland have blood on their hands, but so do Mayorkas and Biden.
