Biden Meets with Venezuelan Opposition Leader
It looks like Joe Biden is trying to put a few more wrenches into the system before he leaves office.
Biden reportedly took a meeting with Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez, who claims to have won the country’s most recent election.
While many consider Gonzalez the president-elect, President Nicolas Maduro is set to begin his third term in just a few days.
Changing the Rules
Now, I know Maduro is corrupt and likely rigged this election, I just find it ironic that Biden is among those who are calling Gonzalez the president-elect of the country.
After meeting with Biden, Gonzalez stated, "We had a long, fruitful and cordial conversation with President Biden and his team.”
Donald Trump also got into the mix, with incoming National Security Adviser Mike Waltz also having a phone meeting with Gonzalez.
On that meeting, Gonzalez stated, "Among various issues that we talked about in detail was the civic protest of Venezuelans this January 9.
"He guaranteed that the United States and the world will be alert about what happens in our country."
Likely, as you are reading this, Venezuela will be on fire over the unrest of Maduro taking the third term.
Gonzalez is currently exiled from the country, now living in Spain due to the threat of arrest by Maduro.
This is going to get ugly, but Venezuela will not have the hold over the United States it had when Joe Biden was in office and begging for oil.
Even with Joe Biden’s landmines, I think Trump will be able to kick up domestic oil and gas production so the country can once again be energy independent.
Having said that, Trump is going to have to do something during his first two years to protect these leases because the next Democrat president may ban all domestic leases using the same legislation that Biden just used to shut down 625 million acres of offshore drilling sites.
