Reports are now surfacing that Joe Biden may have made some type of secret deal with the Saudis before the midterm elections.
The GOP believes Biden made the deal to ensure he would not have to ramp up domestic oil production to keep gasoline prices low.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has been an absolute bulldog since the election was completed, and he is ready to dig in here.
We Need to Know
Comer sent letters to numerous agency heads demanding answers.
He wrote, “This Committee has a responsibility to uncover the facts surrounding any backdoor deals cut by President Biden or his emissaries. The President is choosing foreign sources over domestic source — all for political purposes.
“If his Administration is engaging in backdoor market manipulations with adversarial nations while jeopardizing our national security for the sake of securing more favorable election conditions for Democrats, the American people have a right to know.”
Comer is currently the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee.
Once the new session begins, he will take over as the chair.
The sticky part in all of this is Biden recently granting the Crown Prince immunity in legal proceedings regarding the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Even though Biden has railed against the Prince’s role in the death of Khashoggi, could that immunity have been a tradeoff for more oil production from the Middle East?
The timing of it all stinks, very badly, and it would not surprise me one bit to find it that it was, in fact, part of the deal to get more oil produced to ease pricing hear in the United States.
If that is the tradeoff that Biden made, it will come out soon enough. And if that is the case, you better believe there will be significant blowback for Biden to deal with from both sides of the aisle.
