Republican Iowa Senator Joni Ernst is leading the Senate GOP in an effort to stop the current war on the unborn.
The war on America's children is being waged by President Joe Biden and his Department of Defense, which Ernst said "exists to defend life, not destroy it."
"Ernst, the first female combat veteran elected to the Senate and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is leading 32 Senate Republican colleagues in her push to put a stop to the Department of Defense’s (DOD) abortion policy," reported Breitbart News.
Senator Ernst Fights For Life
The defense agency announced it would pay for service members' and dependents' travel expenses to have abortions. Following that announcement, Ernst joined all of the Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee and issued a letter addressed to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
"The Pentagon should not be mobilized against the unborn. The Department of Defense exists to defend life, not destroy it," Ernst said in the letter.
Ernst described the DOD’s policy as "unlawful and immoral." Ernst also noted that Congress "has been clear" that the bipartisan Hyde Amendment "protects taxpayers from being forced to fund abortions."
"I will continue to ensure the unborn and your tax dollars are protected," Ernst added.
"Ernst’s bill calls to 'terminate' the DOD memorandum relating to access to abortions, while prohibiting the use of 'travel and transportation allowances, medical convalescent leave, and administrative absences to travel to obtain abortions,'" reported Breitbart News.
