Biden Judicial Nominee Fails to Answer Basic Questions During Hearing

A Biden judicial nominee struggled to answer basic legal questions during a Senate committee hearing on Wednesday.

Sara HIll, nominated as district judge for the Northeast District of Oklahoma, struggled with questions from Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA).

When Kennedy asked Hill the difference between a "stay" order and an "injunction" order — two orders frequently issued by federal courts — Hill stumbled through her answers, Fox News reported.

"A stay order would prohibit, um, sorry. An injunction would restrain the parties from taking action. A stay order … I'm not sure I can, actually can, can give you that," she said.

"Carrie Severino, President of JCN, the Judicial Crisis Network shared the stunning video to X with the observation, 'President Biden’s district judge nominee Sara Hill was unable to explain to @SenJohnKennedy
the difference between a “stay order” and an “injunction,'" Trending Politics reported.

"How can an individual who wants to be a federal judge possibly not know this?” she continued.

Kennedy's questions about basic legal issues have become a tradition among judicial nominees. While most nominees deal with the questions, some struggle to respond to basic definitions from daily legal issues.

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin later congratulated Hill for "passing the Kennedy bar exam" though it appears he may have been making the case sound better than the reality.

Instead of impressing the senators in the hearing, the Biden administration appointee's answers led to questions over her nomination.

The awkward situation is one of multiple nominees under Biden who have not been able to answer the most basic questions of the committee, adding to concerns over the president's leftist nominees.
