Biden Judge Blocks Iowa Immigration Law

Once again, a liberal judge is overriding common sense legislation because it does not fit in with Biden’s agenda.

A federal judge, who Biden appointed, by the way, has blocked Iowa from enforcing its own immigration laws.

Judge Stephen Locher temporarily blocked Iowa’s new law that would have made it a crime to enter Iowa after having been deported or denied entry into the country.

But Isn’t That Illegal?

Entering this country illegally is against the law.

And yes, I understand that immigration falls under federal purview, but when the federal government is not doing its job on this front, don’t the states have the right to protect their borders?

That is basically what Iowa was trying to do here, but a Biden judge blocked it from taking effect.

Judge Lochner ruled, “As a matter of politics, the new legislation might be defensible.

“As a matter of constitutional law, it is not.”

Republican Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird was very disappointed in the ruling, stating, “I am disappointed in today’s court decision that blocks Iowa from stopping illegal reentry and keeping our communities safe.

“Since Biden refuses to secure our borders, he has left states with no choice but to do the job for him.”

Republican Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds also responded, stating, “The Biden administration is failing to do their job and enforce federal immigration laws allowing millions to enter and re-enter without any consequence or delay.

“I signed this bill into law to protect Iowans and our communities from the results of this border crisis: rising crime, overdose deaths and human trafficking.”

There has been similar legislation passed in other red states, so I hardly expect this to be the last of it.

This will eventually reach the Supreme Court, which will have to decide what rights states have on this issue when the federal government is clearly not doing its job on the immigration front.
