Joe Biden must be getting nervous.
He is putting the family fortune on the line by bringing in high-powered attorney Bob Bauer, a former Obama official.
This is a bit more nepotism as well, as Bauer is married to a top Biden official.
Bring in the Attorneys
The moment documents were found in other places other than the Penn office, Joe Biden had a problem.
The fact is, considering what they are were working on in this office, there should have been more concerns raised.
This of course, does not even begin to address the fact that National Archives did not realize the documents were missing or that Joe Biden had them in his possession for at least six years.
Now that a special counsel has been assigned to the case, Biden is bringing in an attorney that is going to be on his personal payroll (more likely being paid for out of campaign funds – that is a question I would love to see the media put to Biden).
Garland announced that a new batch of documents were found on Thursday, this now the third batch of documents that have been found in Biden’s possession.
Garland stated, “This morning, President Biden's personal counsel called [U.S. Attorney John Lausch] and stated that an additional document bearing classification markings was identified at the President's personal residence in Wilmington, Delaware."
Bauer is about as entrenched in DC as one can be.
He has served in Democrat administrations, his wife is top Biden adviser Anita Dunn, and he has done work with high-powered DC law firm Perkins Coie LLP.
You may also remember him for serving on the Democrat leader’s legal team during the Bill Clinton administration.
Obama, on Bauer, once stated, "[Bauer] has exceptional judgment, wisdom, and intellect, and he will continue to be one of my close advisers.”
