Biden is once again dropping the hammer on domestic energy production.
On Wednesday, several actions were announced by the Biden administration to protect millions of acres of land from domestic drilling.
Among others, Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) led some strong attacks against Biden and these radical energy policies that are destroying domestic energy production and our ability to be energy independent, reported Fox News.
Land Grabs
Biden is now pulling significant chunks of land off the grid in Alaska, one of our most oil-rich territories.
The Department of the Interior (DOI) put new regulations in place that offered "maximum protection" to 13 million acres in the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR).
Additionally, Biden took 2.8 million acres off the grid in the Beaufort Sea off the northern coast of Alaska.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland also canceled seven leases that were issued in 2021 that encompassed more than 365,000 acres in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
Haaland stated, "With climate change warming the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the planet, we must do everything within our control to meet the highest standards of care to protect this fragile ecosystem."
Manchin was livid, stating, "I can’t explain to the American people why we would willingly become more dependent on foreign oil imports, eliminate good-paying American jobs, and drive up the cost of our electric bills and gas prices across the country.
"This is yet another example of this administration caving to the radical left with no regard for clear direction from Congress or American energy security."
Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) added, "President Biden’s war on American energy continues.
"He is ignoring the law and making us more dependent on foreign oil. Not only is this bad energy policy, it’s bad foreign policy. Today’s decision rewards our adversaries and hurts American families."
Rep. Mary Peltola (D-AK) also chimed in, stating, "I am deeply frustrated by the reversal of these leases in ANWR.
"I will continue to advocate for them and for Alaska's ability to explore and develop our natural resources, from the critical minerals we need for our clean energy transition to the domestic oil and gas we need to get us there."
Just to give you an idea of how radical of a switch this is for Joe Biden, in 2013, the Obama administration published a plan to establish energy independence, including more domestic drilling to reduce the dependence on foreign oil, and Joe Biden barnstormed across the country to sell the plan.
Let me say this again… unless China and India get on board with carbon reduction, this is all white noise, but it is white noise that is costing American jobs and increasing the cost of energy, significantly, in this country.
This is Biden caving to extremists in the party for the sake of campaign donations, and it is crushing the American people.
