Biden Finally Gives RFK Secret Service Protection

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been trying to get Secret Service protection for his campaign since it was clear he was going to run as an independent.

That protection has been denied to this point, with everything changing after the Trump assassination attempt.

Only hours after Donald Trump posted that RFK Jr. should have Secret Service protection, Joe Biden finally caved and approved it.

Not Too Late

RFK Jr. has decent support, enough that he is clearly in this race until the election.

He should have already been given protection, but the Biden administration was resisting it to this point.

Two days after Trump almost had his life taken, he posted on Truth Social, “In light of what is going on in the world today, I believe it is imperative that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service protection — immediately.

“Given the history of the Kennedy Family, this is the obvious right thing to do!”

Later that day, the Department of Homeland Security announced, “In light of this weekend’s events, the president has directed me to work with the Secret Service to provide protection to Robert Kennedy Jr.”

Keep in mind that Donald Trump almost would not have Secret Service protection if some House Democrats had had their way.

There was a growing movement among Democrats to strip Trump of his protection, with Rep. Bennie Thompson (R-MS) even having presented legislation to strip protection for any convicted felons.

Ironically, had Thompson’s legislation passed, it would have also been relevant to Hunter Biden, since he has now been convicted on gun charges.

But for clarity, Thompson’s legislation would have only kicked in if a prison sentence was issued, so it would not have been relevant in this particular instance, but there were Democrats who wanted to outright strip Trump of his protection.

All the while, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi were firing off inflammatory rhetoric about Trump to incite people against him.
