For about a week now, Florida has been preparing for Hurricane Ian to reach landfall.
Way back when Ian was just a baby, a mere tropical storm, DeSantis declared an emergency and started the ball rolling to have the pieces in place to help his residents.
Not once did Joe Biden call during the period.
After it became public knowledge that Joe had not picked up the phone, he finally caved and called Biden just a few hours before Ian was scheduled to make landfall.
Guess I Better Call
Most people in the country were stunned when Karine Jean-Pierre seemed to brag about Biden having not spoken to DeSantis directly.
With significant pushback on social media, Joe finally broke down and gave DeSantis a call to see how he could help.
Karine Jean-Pierre stated, "President Biden spoke this evening (Tuesday) with Governor DeSantis of Florida to discuss the steps the Federal government is taking to help Florida prepare for Hurricane Ian."
That was really nice, since everything had been closed down at that point and whatever was in place for aid was already in place.
It would have been awful nice if Biden had reached out on, say, Friday, to offer some help in expediting matters.
To make matters worse, Biden tried to cover his tracks by calling Tampa Bay's mayor right in the middle of her press conference.
That was clearly a PR move by Biden, waiting until she was on TV to make it appear that he actually cared.
The man has no class... none.
