Biden Fast Track Asylum Program a Complete Failure

In May 2021, the Biden administration decided to try a new approach to speed up the processing of asylum claims.

This was a political move for optics.

The one thing that Biden did not want on the evening news was pictures of packed immigration holding centers, such as we saw during the Obama and Trump administrations.

The Dedicated Dockets program was put in place.

We are finally seeing the data from the program, and it more than likely not what the Biden administration was hoping to see.

Dedicated Docket

Of the 40,000 closed cases, roughly seven percent have been freed on asylum.

About 19 percent have been denied, and there are still 67 percent that have NOT filed for asylum.

Overall, there have been more than 110,000 illegal immigrants enrolled in the system.

Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University reported, “Only 7 percent were granted asylum since even with representation, and after filing asylum applications, families with expedited hearing schedules were much less likely to prevail and be granted asylum.”

Of those that have been denied asylum, deportations are rare, which begs the question as to why this administration is continuing to allow them to remain in the country.

If we are allowing all of these people in because they are running from tyranny, but then we find out that is not the case, should they not be sent back over the border rather than being permitted to roam freely within the country.

Former Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan has estimated that only one per 100 crossing illegals is deported, meaning that we have roughly 2.4 million of them that were permitted to stay from last year alone.

This year’s numbers are expected to tickle three million, which would mean another 2.7 million this year.
