REPORT: Biden Considering Banning Gas Stoves Nationwide

I just read a report that is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard in my life regarding government overreach.

On Monday, Bloomberg reported that the Biden administration is now considering a ban on gas stoves.

The administration is citing a study that claims harmful pollutants are released by the appliance.

Kill the Restaurant Industry

I have worked in a lot of restaurants in my day, and I can tell you I have never, not once, worked in a kitchen that used an electric stovetop.

Such a move would obliterate the restaurant industry.

Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. stated, “This is a hidden hazard.

“Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

Ironically, this report hit at the same time that Jill Biden posted a photo of herself cooking over a gas stove, which Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was more than happy to point out…

Roughly 40 percent of American homes use gas stoves, not to mention that virtually the entire restaurant industry uses them.

Brady Seals, a manager in the carbon-free buildings program at the nonprofit clean energy group RMI and a co-author of the study, stated, “There is about 50 years of health studies showing that gas stoves are bad for our health, and the strongest evidence is on children and children’s asthma. By having a gas connection, we are polluting the insides of our homes.”

I can see the argument in homes that do not have outside ventilation, but homes and restaurants that do have outside ventilation should be fine, hence the point made by Jill Notini, a vice president with the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.

Notini stated, “Ventilation is really where this discussion should be, rather than banning one particular type of technology.

“Banning one type of a cooking appliance is not going to address the concerns about overall indoor air quality. We may need some behavior change, we may need [people] to turn on their hoods when cooking.”

This is just another move to end fossil fuels. I cannot even begin to imagine how much this will impact the natural gas industry if gas stove tops are banned throughout the country.
