Biden Confirms Pre-emptive Pardons Being Mulled

Joe Biden created a nice buzz in the MAGA world this week when he confirmed that he is considering offering pre-emptive pardons to people like Liz Cheney and Dr. Fauci.

Biden stated that when he had his meeting with Trump, he suggested that Trump not pursue going after Cheney and Fauci.

Biden further stated that during that conversation, Trump just listened to him, not committing to anything.

Possible Pardon

On Wednesday, USA Today reported that Biden is still considering these pre-emptive pardons.

On his meeting with Trump, Biden stated, "I tried to make clear that there was no need, and it was counterintuitive for his interest to go back and try to settle scores.

"He didn't say, 'No, I'm going to ...' You know. He didn't reinforce it. He just basically listened."

Biden then added that it would depend on who Trump appoints as to whether he would move ahead with these pardons.

As far as Dr. Fauci is concerned, there are a lot of reports floating around about him, and Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who I respect very much, seems to think that there could be something there, so I will defer to him.

Regarding Cheney, as much as I would like to say she broke the law, I am not sure there is anything there, even though her conduct during the J6 investigation was reprehensible.

The most glaring issue was witness tampering, but congressional rules state that only an attorney representing another client in a hearing cannot contact witnesses.

Cheney was not representing anyone, so her contact and coaching of Cassidy Hutchinson, while optically horrific, did not violate any laws, which is why Cheney has been so cocky about all of this.

What I would really like to see is if Congress adopts permanent hearing guidelines that would require hearings to follow the rules of a courtroom, otherwise these hearings are one-sided shows, nothing more.

We can even go back to the days of then-Rep. Trey Gowdy, who called these hearings useless, which is one of the reasons he left Congress.

Believe me, I would love to see Cheney held accountable, but any investigation into her activities will never result in an orange jumpsuit and will only produce a report to grab some headlines to justify its cost to the American taxpayer.
