Biden Administration Holds First Meeting with Taliban After Strike

Joe Biden is holding meetings.

Well, not Joe Biden, but rather the people really running this administration.

After all the guff they threw at Trump for trying to work a deal with the Taliban, that is actually who Biden officials have very quietly been holding meetings with recently.

Keep It Quiet

The meeting was the first meeting that has been held since al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was taken out.

The CIA's deputy director and the top State Department official responsible for Afghanistan were sent to Qatari to meet with the Taliban head of intelligence, Abdul Haq Wasiq, and other Taliban officials.

The fact that al-Zawahiri was even in the country was yet another clear violation of the Doha agreement that Trump had brokered.

Since Trump left office, the Taliban has treated the agreement like a napkin, yet Biden has not held them accountable and still handed them Afghanistan.

With CIA Deputy Director David Cohen and the Taliban's Wasiq both present, the focus of the meeting was believed to be counterterrorism.

Beth Sanner, a former Deputy Director of National Intelligence, stated, "The Taliban are struggling to prevent ISIS-K attacks, making them look feckless, particularly in Kabul.

"[Cohen] is likely to deliver a firm message that we will conduct more strikes as we did against Zawahiri if we find that al Qaeda members in Afghanistan are supporting operations that threaten the US or its allies.

"ISIS-K now poses an internal Afghan threat, to the Taliban and to sectarian stability given ISIS-K's focus on killing Shias, but there is some reasonable concern that ISIS-K could ultimately turn its sights on external plotting if the Taliban is unable to contain them."

Another key issue is the country's plight of women and young girls.

They have been all but erased from the public, yet this administration has not lifted a finger to change it.
