Federal Judge Hands Biden Administration Major Defeat

Joe Biden and company just got the news that their efforts to censor dissenting opinions is not constitutional.

Judge Terry Doughty upheld Americans' rights to speak without being censored as well as giving a scathing rebuke to the administration, reported Fox News.

This is a massive decision that will send a shiver right up the spine of the entire Biden administration.

Constitutional Win

The original case had been brought against the administration by Missouri, among other plaintiffs, after it had been revealed that agencies and administration officials had been meeting with big tech executives to censor accounts.

The injunction issued by Judge Doughty now forbids these individuals from meeting with "[S]ocial-media companies for the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech posted on social media platforms."

Doughty added that this case "arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States' history."

I can tell you for a fact that this is a very real issue, as many conservative writers, such as myself, often have to hold back for fear of being censored, especially when interacting with people on social media.

There is no time to celebrate the decision, however, as the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has already stayed the injunction by Doughty pending the outcome of the appeal. However, the court did say that it would expedite the case, reported Politico.

The decision by Doughty was backed up with more than 100 pages of information regarding meetings that were held with government agency officials as well as Biden administration officials censoring accounts for making statements or opinions that were conflicting with that of the administration.

When you look at the list of accounts, it was clear this was an attack against conservative free speech, not free speech in general.

I did not see the makeup of the panel for the 5th Circuit, but rest assured, if the appeals court reverses Doughty's decision, this case is headed for the Supreme Court where I doubt very much this administration will be happy with the outcome.
