Biden Administration Requests Immunity for Crown Prince

Que outrage…

After specifically citing the Crown Prince's role in the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Biden administration has had a change of heart.

In a rather shocking development, the administration is now requesting immunity for the Crown Prince in lawsuits regarding his alleged role in the Khashoggi's death.

Major Turnaround

I cannot even begin to tell you how big this story is right now.

The State Department is trying to downplay this, saying it is "purely a legal determination," citing "longstanding precedent."

That, however, goes directly against statements made by Biden on the campaign trail and after taking office.

He has been adamant that he would hold Saudi Arabia accountable for Khashoggi's death, but this lets him off the hook completely if granted.

This move will send human rights activists right off the cliff, not to mention angering lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

The State Department tried to temper the announcement by adding that it "takes no view on the merits of the present suit and reiterates its unequivocal condemnation of the heinous murder of Jamal Khashoggi."

Despite the Saudis denying any involvement in the murder by the Crown Prince, our intelligence agencies have concluded the murder had the stamp of approval of the Crown Prince.

Sarah Leah Whitson, Head of Democracy for the Arab World Now, went right on the attack, stating, "It’s beyond ironic that President Biden has single-handedly assured MBS can escape accountability when it was President Biden who promised the American people he would do everything to hold him accountable.”

She added, "It’s impossible to read the Biden administration’s move today as anything more than a capitulation to Saudi pressure tactics, including slashing oil output to twist our arms to recognize MBS’s fake immunity ploy.”
