Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supported President Joe Biden during a Sunday interview but also gave a reality check about the situation of many living in America.
Sanders shared his concerns on CNN's "State of the Union" about the economy and health care.

"We have made real progress in a number of years, but the reality is that today, 60% of our people are living paycheck-to-paycheck. We have massive levels of income and wealth inequality," Sanders said.
"Our health care system is a total disaster. Eighty-five million people uninsured, underinsured, while the insurance companies make huge profits. The cost of pharmaceutical drugs, precipitation drugs, sky high," he continued.

"We have to deal with the reality of life today. That’s what Roosevelt did in 1936," Sanders later said.
"And that is to understand that we have massive levels of corporate greed in every part of society. The very rich are getting richer, working people are struggling," he noted.
Sanders previously ran for president as a Democrat before losing to Biden in the primary. He is also an Independent in Biden's home state of Delaware.
Sanders has been quick to highlight what he believes are the president's successes while also speaking out in areas of weakness, including pushing back on Biden's claims that the economy has improved based on his "Bidenomics" plan.
The reality may be the wake-up call Biden and other Democrats need entering the 2024 election season as Americans look for real answers to address inflation, gas prices, and overall economic struggles.
Sanders was unafraid to speak out against Biden, calling on all lawmakers to address what is important to Americans.
