Beloved Internet star Peanut the Squirrel captured and killed by authorities

The death of a squirrel named Peanut has left the Internet devastated.

Peanut the squirrel was rescued from the streets of New York and taken in by a man named Mark Longo.

After learning of the squirrel illegally residing inside of a Longo’s home, Vice President Kamala Harris’ Department of Environmental Conservation showed up to confiscate the animal and EUTHANIZE him.

While Peanut was not legal, Longo said he was in the process of getting him certified to be an educational animal.

“Today at 10am Wednesday, Oct 30, 2024… The NY State DEC showed up to my house and took Peanut. He was TAKEN to be EUTHANIZED. I’m in shock, disbelief, and disgusted to the people who did this to, PNUT,” Longo wrote to Peanut’s followers.

“For the last 7 years, Peanut has been my best friend. He’s been the center of my world and many of yours for so long, I don’t know how to process this, emotionally. Last year we moved to NY in hopes of starting a NONPROFIT animal rescue in PNUT’s Name,” Longo continued.

“I will set up a fundraiser for those who want to donate in Peanuts name. I’ll never give up on this nonprofit or those who fell in love with peanut,” Longo wrote, breaking the hearts of fans.

Since the news of Peanut’s death has spread, the Internet has been left in complete and total fury.

Some have even started calling out Democrats like Kamala Harris and her allies for this heinous, ridiculous action.

One user on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, who goes by the name of Robby Starbuck, took a moment to fire massive shots at Harris.

“Kamala’s party executed a cute pet squirrel named Peanut this week because they’re lunatics. Vote Trump to avenge Peanut,” Starbuck wrote.

We pray for everyone affected by Peanut’s death.

Even though he was just a squirrel, he touched so many lives, and that matters.

We hope that everyone who loved him, especially his handler, Mark Longo, can find peace and comfort knowing just how special Peanut truly was.

If Peanut is able to be a part of the reason Harris is voted out of the White House on Nov. 5, then his death will not have been in vain.
