Barr Predicts Trump Hush-money Verdict Will Be Overturned

Former Attorney General William Barr has no love lost for Donald Trump.

For that reason, you can generally take something positive for Trump coming out of his mouth at face value.

As I have predicted since before the Trump hush-money case went to trial, Barr stated that he believes the verdict will eventually be overturned.

Unprecedented

As I have stated probably thousands of times by now, this case never should have been brought to trial.

In 999/1000 cases, this would have been a fine, back taxes, some penalties, and it would have been over.

Let me put it this way, when it was still within the statute of limitations as a misdemeanor, Bragg’s office declined to prosecute, so that should tell you all you need to know about this case.

Bill Barr seems to agree with me that Bragg never met the burden of proof and that this will all be rectified by the appellate court.

He stated, "When people were talking about it, I said that the case was an abomination, and I didn't think it was going to be brought at the end of the day because it was so vaporous.

"I was surprised they went ahead with it… it was an abomination. And everyone's talked about that.

“But you think about, how are the American people going to react in a very close election if Trump loses and this case is overturned - which it will be, this case will be overturned.”

This case is starting to flip the narrative, and one former Hillary Clinton supporter noted, "We were told that Donald Trump would be the end of democracy, but it turns out that lawfare tactics have been escalated by the Democrats and not by the Republicans.

“And so it’s from that backdrop that I believe the Republican Party is less of a danger to democracy than the Democratic Party right now.”

Just think of all the things that Democrats have said Republicans and Donald Trump were or are doing that the Dems have already done!

The Democrats tried sleight of hand, and it did not work. The American people will surely see through this.

I have lost a lot of faith in a lot of things in our political system, but I still really do have faith that the people of this country will get it right this time.
