Austin Wants Israel to Pivot to Diplomatic Settlement with Hezbollah
The United States is sticking its nose in where it does not belong again.
According to a recent posting by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, he is pushing Israel to seek out a diplomatic solution regarding its recent conflict with Hezbollah.
This comes after several peacekeeping soldiers were injured in an attack.
Sympathy for Terrorists
As I am sure most of you know, Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon, has joined the attacks against Israel.
As far as I am concerned, if you willingly allow a terrorist organization to exist and operate within your borders, and do nothing to resist, you are then a terrorist nation.
That is why I have zero empathy for both Lebanon and Palestine, which allows Hamas to exist within its borders.
Austin does not see it that way, demanding that Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant start seeking out a diplomatic solution.
Austin posted on X, “I spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant on Oct. 12 and expressed my deep concern about reports that Israeli forces fired on UN peacekeeping positions in Lebanon as well as by the reported death of two Lebanese soldiers.
“I strongly emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of UNIFIL forces and Lebanese Armed Forces and reinforced the need to pivot from military operations in Lebanon to a diplomatic pathway as soon as feasible.
“I also raised the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and stressed that steps must be taken to address it. I reaffirmed the United States' unwavering, enduring, and ironclad commitment to Israel's security.”
Let’s be clear… Hezbollah started this conflict, firing missiles at Israel on October 8, nearly one year to the day that Hamas invaded Israel killing and kidnapping innocent civilians.
For roughly a year now, Israel has been willing to negotiate a diplomatic solution with Hezbollah if it would leave the border area in Lebanon where it is currently based, but it chose to attack instead. This attack, by the way, was celebrated by Iran.
I fully expect Israel to tell Austin to go pound sand, and rightfully so.
All these public messages do is embolden these terrorist organizations. I don’t really care what they say behind closed doors, but in public, it has to be an unwavering show of support.
Just one more reason to push for the GOP to take back the White House, which would give Israel the support it needs to end both Hezbollah and Hamas.
Give them the support they need to end this battle with terrorism in the Middle East before it works its way back to our homeland again.
Hopefully, it is not too late to prevent another 9/11, but, sadly, I fear that time too has passed.
