The city of El Paso is being overwhelmed with migrant releases right now.
What used to be released in a week is now being released just about every day.
The city is preparing almost 1,000 meals every day to feed these migrants.
Yet, for pure optics, the city was told by the White House to not declare an emergency.
The information comes via El Paso Councilmember Claudia Rodriguez.
She claims to have had a conversation with Mayor Oscar Leeser on the matter.
She stated, "He told me the White House asked him not to" declare an emergency.
Leeser is being pressured by almost half the members of the council to make the declaration, but he has resisted thus far.
Considering the influx of migrants and the problems that come with them, it is perfectly understandable.
Yet, he is being intimidated by this White House.
That sure sounds like an abuse of power to me.
