Army soldier sentenced to 14 years for assisting in plot to kill US forces
Former President Donald Trump is likely FURIOUS over the latest criminal sentencing.
Cole Bridges is a 24-year-old Army soldier from Stow, Ohio.
He also pleaded guilty to agreeing to help the Islamic State terrorist group known as ISIS.
Now, he has been sentenced to fourteen years behind bars for his disturbing confession.
Fourteen years is NOTHING for what Bridges planned to do, and if it was up to Trump, he would likely have received a longer sentence.
Bridges was plotting to AMBUSH his own soldiers in the Middle East.
He had no idea he was not actually talking with anyone from the Islamic State terror group.
What he proceeded to communicate is truly shocking.
He went so far as to pass along clear instructions on how to attack the United States forces, including DETAILED advice about which buildings to wire with explosive to make sure the troops would die.
But because Judge Liman found Bridges to “show signs of remorse” he gave him a LIGHT sentence.
Liman even have the nerve to say that Bridges was “not a hardened criminal.”
Originally, Bridges even asked for the “maximum sentence” of four decades in prison.
“Honestly, I do believe that I deserve the maximum sentence. I know what I did was wrong,” Bridges said.
While we may never know if Bridges is truly remorseful, even forty years is not enough time.
At the end of the day, Bridges is guilty of plotting a mass murder of his OWN soldiers.
He should be spending the rest of his life behind bars for what he did, remorseful or not.
The ultimate sacrifice and responsibility of American soldiers is to protect their own and the citizens of this country.
Bridges did the exact OPPOSITE of that when he tried to have his own men blown up by terrorists.
Do you think the judge made the right decision with a 14-year-long prison sentence?
