Arizona Election Case Trial Date Set for 2026

A recent decision regarding Arizona election subversion in the case of a Trump ally is good news for the Trump campaign.

The court date for the case has been set for January 5, 2026.

This delays the case until after the 2024 election, which is great news for Trump because he will avoid another cycle of negative headlines due to these legal issues.

Kicking the Can Down the Road

The cases in question are for two major Trump allies: Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani.

Again, while these are not Trump’s cases, he would still be affected by any negative developments in them.

Both defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges, with Giuliani’s attorney recently calling for the charges to be dismissed because his client did nothing illegal while contesting the results of the election.

At the heart of his case is Giuliani presiding over a meeting in Phoenix to discuss the election results.

Giuliani's lawyer, Mark Williams, was dripping in sarcasm as he asked, “How is Mr. Giuliani to know that, oh my gosh, he presided over a meeting in downtown Phoenix?

“How is he to know that that’s a crime?”

Giuliani is not alone in trying to have these charges dismissed, as nearly every defendant in the case is arguing that the charges levied against them are baseless.

So far, only one defendant has successfully had the charges dismissed, that being former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, but that was only because she agreed to cooperate with authorities in the case.

This is one of the few cases regarding the election in which Trump is not actually named as a co-defendant.
