AOC Rips Pro-Israel Group as 'Racist and Bigoted'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) criticized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on Tuesday, calling it racist and bigoted.

The congresswoman's remarks occurred in a post on X attacking the longtime pro-Israel group.

“AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists. They are no friend to American democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X. “They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color.

“They are an extremist organization that destabilizes US democracy," she added.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) spoke out in response to Ocasio-Cortez's comments in his own post.

"You know who else hates @AIPAC? Hamas. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that people like AOC would attack the largest bipartisan pro-Israel group in the US as somehow a threat to our country," Donalds wrote.

"The rise of antisemitism by the progressive left is the REAL threat to humanity," he continued.

Ocasio-Cortez is one of multiple Squad members who has spoken out against Israel and pro-Israel groups since attacks by Hamas on Oct. 7.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) narrowly avoided a House censure resolution after continuing to blame Israel for an attack on a Gaza hospital despite evidence that the incident was by a terrorist rocket.

Despite widespread support for Israel among Americans and their lawmakers, Ocasio-Cortez rips pro-Israel groups in contrast in moves that increasingly appear antisemitic as such attacks increase worldwide.
