AOC Loses Endorsement from Anti-Israel Group

Democrats would love for everyone to believe that the right is where all the extremists reside, but that is hardly the case.

The left has some people who are literally against everything this country stands for, and one of those groups had previously backed Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

As extreme as AOC has been against Israel, apparently, that was not enough for the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Not Extreme Enough

Generally speaking, losing an endorsement is not a good thing, but this could actually help AOC more than it hurts her.

The anti-Israel stance has hurt several other progressive Democrats during the primary, so I am wondering if the recent statement by the DSA is a smokescreen of sorts.

In pulling its support of AOC, the DSA stated, “A national DSA endorsement comes with a serious commitment to the movement for Palestine and our collective socialist project.

“We must endorse candidates who enthusiastically seek a relationship with DSA, and the National Political Committee as the highest body of the organization between conventions is responsible for setting the criteria we establish for national endorsements.

“Chapters have a responsibility to make this clear to their endorsed candidates when applying for a national endorsement. The NPC is committed to ensuring that all of our elected officials are unabashed in their support for Palestinian freedom.

“To build a socialist movement that’s capable of defeating capitalism, we must demand more from leaders in our movement.”

AOC has accused Israel of genocide as well as having spread Hamas propaganda in regard to the attack that took place on October 7.

That is exactly why I am leaning toward the idea that the DSA pulled its endorsement to help AOC win her general election in November.
