New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) has not visited the southern border since President Joe Biden entered office after a highly publicized trip under former President Donald Trump.
Ocasio-Cortez's 2019 visit included a popular image of her crying outside of a child migrant facility in El Paso, Texas.

"Ocasio-Cortez has frequently pushed Democratic narratives about the border and border officials, such as the debunked claim that Border Patrol agents in Texas 'whipped' Haitian migrants crossing the border illegally," Fox News reported.
"The southern border under Biden has become a verifiable disaster zone with 2.3 million illegal migrants crossing the border illegally this fiscal year alone," it added.

In an October town hall, Ocasio-Cortez offered an odd response to the border crisis.
"One of the only reasons that we have been able to have a different fate than that is because we are a country that welcomes immigrants," Ocasio-Cortez told the crowd.
"Because we do not have the capacity right now to continue to pay and fund for Medicare and Social Security and continued economic growth and creating more jobs without entrepreneurs. There's no way to make that work," she added.
"And so when we talk about the question of undocumented people, my priority is by opening legal pathways to citizenship and making sure that we are documented, because this idea of a line and waiting in line, that's not how our immigration system works," the congresswoman concluded.
Instead of seeking ways to protect Americans, Ocasio-Cortez continues to defend those illegally entering the nation.
The concerning contrast reveals the perspective held by other Democrats who continue to ignore the real dangers of the border crisis.
