The United Nations recently floored another resolution for a cease-fire in Gaza.
The United States blocked the resolution, and the ramifications for Biden with the far-left members of his party are already starting.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) blasted Biden on social media, a comment that will surely cost Biden support among progressives in the party.
AOC and her crew have been holding Israel’s feet over the fire from the outset while sitting on their hands regarding the atrocities committee by Hamas.
That continued here, with AOC posting, "The Biden [administration] can no longer reconcile their professed concern for Palestinians and human rights while also single-handedly vetoing the UN’s call for a ceasefire and sidestepping the entire US Congress to unconditionally back the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.”
When the administration was asked for a response to AOC’s comments, it stated, "Despite a rushed process and lack of consultation by the resolution’s authors, the United States engaged in good faith on the resolution. Nearly all of our recommendations were ignored."
The biggest issue at hand is the end of Hamas, which the cease-fire, as written, would allow to continue.
Robert Wood, the U.S. deputy ambassador to the U.N., explained, "It would simply leave Hamas in place, able to regroup and repeat what it did on Oct. 7.
“Colleagues, a senior Hamas official recently stated the group intends to repeat the vile acts of Oct. 7, quote, again and again and again, unquote.
“And yet this resolution essentially says Israel should just tolerate this, that it should allow this terror to go unchecked.
"Although the United States strongly supports a durable peace in which both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and security, we do not support this resolution's call for an unsustainable cease-fire that will only plant the seeds for the next war."
That is either what AOC does not get or could care less about.
Hamas must be ended, or this war will be repeated time and again, not to mention the endless attacks against Israel by this terrorist group that led up to the war.
Of the reported dead in Gaza, roughly one-third are Hamas terrorists, putting the ratio at 2:1 of civilians to terrorists, which would be one of the lowest ratios in history for a war.
The narrative being put forth by progressives in this war is just flat-out wrong, but that has never stopped them before.
