AOC facing yet another ethics complaint

Did AOC break an ethics rule for the misuse of taxpayer funds for dance lessons?

That is the claim by watchdog group Americans for Public Trust.

According to the complaint, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) used more than $4,500 in taxpayer money to pay for dance classes, classifying them as “training.”

Misuse of Funds

According to the complaint, AOC used $3,700 paid to “Juan D Gonzalez” and $850 to “Bombazo Dance Co Inc” via the Member Representational Allowance.

The complaint alleges that AOC made the payments in “contravention of federal law and the standards of the House of Representatives.”

AOC’s camp says the complaint is bogus and wrong, stating, “100% wrong. None of this is taxpayer money, this is an FEC filing. Be loud and wrong about something else. Try again next time.”

However, the New York Post checked FEC filings, and the outlet claimed that it could not find a trace of either the company or individual cites above in her FEC filings.

APT further stated, “Representative Ocasio-Cortez has made expenditures from her official office account that she herself contends should have been reported to the FEC, presumably because they were made for campaign purposes.

“If it is revealed that Representative Ocasio-Cortez has demonstrated a pattern of using her taxpayer-funded MRA to pay her campaign expenses, we further request a full investigation be commenced by your office.”

According to the social media page of Bombazo, ACO was there in December, featured in a video dancing and banging on drums with other patrons.

This fund has long been an issue for me, as members are able to write off all kinds of goodies that I believe should be coming out of their campaign funds, such as printing, mail, equipment, rent, travel, and other staff expenses.

This is far from the first time that AOC has come under the microscope, as she has faced numerous ethics complaints in the past.

The most famous of these was likely the free tickets she got to the Met Gala, when she wore a white dress with “Tax the Rich” written on the back in red.

Of course, nothing has ever come from these allegations because we have corrupt politicians on the ethics committee who will never call out one of their own, regardless of party, because they are all doing the same corrupt activities.

If I were president, one of my first agenda issues would be remove that committee and appoint a non-partisan independent committee to investigate these complaints. They maybe, just maybe, some of the corruption in Congress would get cleaned up.
