AOC Comments on Trump Fraud Case in New York

This weekend, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) appeared on CNN to comment on Donald Trump’s fraud case.

In trying to make her case, however, I think AOC actually made a mistake.

She basically made a point that Trump has been pushing from the very outset.

Making His Case

Jake Tapper asked AOC to explain to the average voter who sees these prosecutions of Trump as the government going after someone.

She replied, “Has there ever been a president, Republican or Democrat that has been subjected to this level of criminal charges, indictments, and investigations?

“This is not about party. This is not about politics. This is about corruption and criminality.

“We’re talking about an individual who ordered essentially a terrorist attack on the capital of the United States in order to retain power.”

“I actually think that the fact that it’s happening in so many places and so many jurisdictions, cuts in the face of that — this is not just New York, this is Georgia, this is federal courts as well.”

To answer the question that AOC asked, no, we have NEVER seen this level of “criminal charges, indictments, and investigations” into a presidential candidate.

The argument could very easily be made, in fact, Donald Trump makes it every day, that the only reason we are seeing this is because Democrats want to take him out of the picture.

The fact we see this in multiple jurisdictions only further makes that case, especially when you break down some of these cases and how the charges were constructed.

The most glaring of these are the Letitia James and Alvin Bragg cases.

Adding gasoline to this fire is the number of times Engoron has been overruled in this case by the appellate court.

Judge Aileen Cannon is taking heat over her decisions that have been overturned in the classified documents case, yet the media is silent regarding the rulings made by Engoron that have been overturned.

I am not saying that Trump is completely innocent here, either, but I am saying that extreme penalties are being handed down in cases where you would normally see a reasonable fine and a slap on the knuckles.

So, AOC, thanks for making our point for us. We can always depend on you!
