Anti-Trumper Behind Complaints Against Judge Cannon

Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, also happens to be the judge in the Donald Trump classified documents case.

As such, she has been under fire for every move that she had made since being appointed to the case.

Part of the attack has been a wave of complaints filed against her, and now we know the origin.

Hit Campaign

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner has been calling Cannon biased in this case from the outset.

Mind you, several of her decisions have mimicked Judge Chutkan's rulings in the January 6 case, but nobody is saying a word about Chutkan.

Yet, Kirschner led a massive online effort to have ethics complaints filed against Cannon over her rulings in the Trump case.

He posted a step-by-step guide online for his followers to file complaints in the hopes of having her removed from the bench.

This is taking Trump Derangement Syndrome to a whole new level.

When the complaints were addressed by the Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, he recognized these complaints were not legitimate.

Judge William Pryor stated, “Many of the complaints” against Cannon were filed with the “request that the Chief Circuit Judge remove her from the classified-documents case and reassign the case to a different judge,” noting that this appeared to be an “orchestrated campaign” against Cannon.

One of Kirschner’s biggest complaints against Cannon is that she “has brought the case to a screeching halt by declining to resolve motions in a timely manner and by refusing to set a trial date,” but that is a bit of a stretch.

She has been flooded with motions by both sides, but she has done nothing more than Judge Chutkan did in indefinitely suspending the January 6 case until the Supreme Court decides on the motion regarding presidential immunity, which will also impact this case.

In his ruling, Pryor also hit Kirschner for his inappropriate directions on how to properly file a complaint against a judge, saying his directions were not “the appropriate way to seek review of Judge Cannon’s orders.”

I will be the first to admit that Cannon has been a friendly judge to Trump, but only in the fact she is allowing motions to play out rather than striking down every move made by the Trump defense as we have seen in other cases.

If you are going to try to remove her from the bench for delaying this case, then you would also need to remove Judge Chutkan, who suspended her case long before Cannon did.
