For some, dual citizenship is cherished.
If you happen to have that distinction in Russia, it could mean you are being sent off to war.
For that reason, the American embassy in Russia has alerted all those currently in Russia holding dual citizenship to leave immediately.

Russia is in dire need of soldiers right now.
Last week, Putin announced the largest conscription since World War II.
This led to rioting in the streets, more than 1,400 arrests on the first day, and a flood of people to the border.
Rumors out of Russia were that the conscription went beyond reserve and former military, as Putin had announced.
They were taking everyone and anyone that could hold a rifle.
So, the American Embassy, on Tuesday, warned, "Russia may refuse to acknowledge dual nationals' U.S. citizenship, deny their access to U.S. consular assistance, prevent their departure from Russia, and conscript dual nationals for military service."
The statement continued, "Those residing or traveling in Russia should depart Russia immediately while limited commercial travel options remain."
Russians have been fleeing the country in record numbers, with Finland reportedly ready to close its border due to the massive influx of migrants.
Russian expert Rebekah Koffler believes this warning could send tensions even higher than they already are.
She stated, "Moscow and Washington don't speak the same language, literally and figuratively, having diametrically opposing worldviews and security agendas that placed them on a geopolitical collision course.
"This is a very complex and highly risky diplomatic-dance of 'strategic messaging' and 'strategic ambiguity' because of the possibility of misinterpretation."
This is yet another foreign policy disaster just waiting to be added to Biden's failed legacy.
