Alina Habba Calls on Judge Merchan to Drop Case

Reports started to surface last week that Special Counsel Jack Smith was looking to wind down his cases against Trump.

There is, however, still the hush money case that went before Judge Merchan, where sentencing has not yet taken place.

Trump legal spokesperson Alina Habba is now demanding that Merchan vacate the verdict and have the case dismissed.

It Was Lawfare

I stated from the outset that the case brought by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg was a complete and utter joke.

When this case was first presented, I dug into it pretty well to find that in virtually every similar case, this was nothing more than a fine, penalties, back taxes, and a public slap on the wrist.

When we found out a Biden DOJ official left their post to join Bragg’s team, then three dozen felony charges were filed against Trump.

After the election was over, there were reports that Judge Merchan was considering vacating the verdict and dismissing all charges against Trump, and Habba is now demanding he do just that…

I agree completely, as I have never believed the charges were serious. Also, when this case goes through the appeal process, it will wind up being overturned anyway.

As a matter of fact, when the initial charges were going to be brought, this was a misdemeanor crime, which backs up my previous research of this being nothing more than a fine.

Bragg had even decided not to file charges, but only after the Biden official joined his office did the case get momentum in terms of charging Trump.

If there was ever an example of lawfare, this case is it.

So, Judge Merchan, save everyone the time and money, vacate the verdict, and end this now.
